Veterinarian

Accentuate Staffing is partnering with a leading animal health research company who is hiring for an Associate/Research Veterinarian. This is a direct hire opportunity, offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, working onsite. The ideal candidate has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, hands-on experience with swine health care, and strong surgical and clinical skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide routine veterinary care for pigs, ensuring compliance with USDA and FDA standards.
2. Perform medical procedures, including health checks, disease testing, and administration of medications.
3. Deliver surgical and post-operative care, including abdominal and general procedures.
4. Maintain detailed health, treatment, and regulatory records in accordance with SOPs.
5. Conduct site activities including sample collection, observation of animal behavior, and euthanasia when required.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold facility standards and ensure animal welfare.

Requirements:

1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with 2–5+ years of veterinary practice experience with large animals.
2. Proven experience providing veterinary care specifically to pigs, for at least one year.
3. Skilled in conducting medical tests, collecting samples, and performing routine treatments.
4. Proficiency in surgical techniques, including abdominal procedures and caesarean sections.
5. Licensed or eligible for state veterinary licensure, USDA Level II Accreditation, and DEA License.
6. Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 75 lbs, carrying 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling 200 lbs on wheels.
