Remote Mortgage Underwriter

Mortgage Underwriter - Join our underwriting team supporting broker loan processing. You’ll evaluate applications, ensure compliance, and drive high‑quality decisions within a structured, end‑to‑end workflow.

What you’ll do

• Underwrite 2–3 new files/day and process 6–8 final approvals/day (volume dependent).
• Partner with Loan Structure & Precision Income teams to finalize approvals.
• Perform credit reviews and quality control; approve/deny loans promptly.
• Ensure adherence to investor guidelines ( FHA, HUD, VA, VA IRRRL, VA SAR, TrumsID Registration ) and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with clients and compliance to resolve documentation issues.

What you bring

• 3+ years mortgage underwriting experience; strong FHA/VA/conventional knowledge.
• Proficiency with AUS , Encompass , and Excel ; understanding of HMDA and federal/state regs.
• Preferred: FHA/HUD/VA credentials (incl. VA SAR ) and TrumsID Registration .
• (Note: Loss mitigation/servicing underwriting backgrounds are not eligible.)

Schedule & training

• Remote (state restrictions apply)
• Shifts 8 AM – 5 PM or 9 AM - 6 PM EST
• Extensive paid training 60–75 days (11:00 AM–6:00 PM EST)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
