Registered Nurse - Outpatient
**Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties for Healthcare Worker (HCW):
**
The HCW role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
- Maintain productivity levels consistent with industry standards for similar healthcare services.
- Engage in peer review processes and performance improvement activities.
- Implement aseptic techniques as required and adhere to infection control protocols, ensuring proper management of infectious waste and universal precautions to mitigate infection transmission risks.
- Operate with a thorough understanding of safety protocols.
- Respond effectively to emergency patient situations by following established protocols, remaining composed, notifying appropriate personnel, and accurately documenting events. Proactively anticipate potential emergencies and implement appropriate interventions, while escalating issues beyond the HCW’s capacity to the supervisor or designated authority.
- Integrate legal considerations into all patient care practices, employing risk-reduction strategies where feasible.
Assist in the execution of the Family Advocacy Program as instructed, which includes executing appropriate medical examinations, thorough documentation, and accurate reporting.
- Demonstrate awareness and respect for patient and significant others' rights as outlined by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Uphold accountability for personal professional practice.
- Participate in continuing education initiatives to support professional development.
- Complete all mandatory annual training as stipulated by Command, including but not limited to online training modules covering disaster preparedness, infection control, sexual harassment, bloodborne pathogens, fire safety, and CBRNE protocols.
- Actively engage in the command's Performance Improvement Program, attending meetings to assess patient care quality, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide in-service training for clinic staff, offering clinical direction and support to government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, nursing students). - Attend and partake in meetings as directed.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and concise documentation of all patient care activities.
- Utilize automated healthcare systems (e.g., CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, MHS Genesis, and Clinical Information System) and participate in clinical staff performance improvement (PI) and risk management (RM) initiatives as designated by the Commander. Maintain responsiveness to DOD email communications.
- Appropriately delegate clinical tasks and coordinate responsibilities among healthcare team members and clinic operations.
**Work Schedule:** - Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day within the timeframe of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- No weekend shifts, holiday work, or on-call requirements.
**Minimum Qualifications:** -
**Education:** A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Alternatively, candidates may possess a degree from state-accredited nursing programs or those accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
- **Experience:** A minimum of 1 year of full clinical experience as a Registered Nurse within the past 2 years is required. -
**Licensure:** A current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state.
- **Life Support Certification:** Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- **Security Clearance:** Candidates must possess the ability to pass a government background check and obtain necessary security clearance.
