The FOX Sports Creative Services Department in is currently seeking a Freelance Unreal Technical Designer to join our high-energy, fast-paced award-winning team. This position is a freelance daily hire and part of IATSE. The Unreal Technical Designer works collaboratively within our design team to execute AR and VR features within Unreal Engine and prepare them for implementation. Primary responsibilities are around extrapolating and executing existing design and may also include some initial concepting and graphic design. • Conceptualize and execute new AR/VR features
• Work collaboratively across multiple disciplines, including design, software development, and engineering
• Model, texture, light, and rig assets and environments for AR/VR executions
• Design and implement animation control systems
• Optimize scenes to maintain minimum performance levels
• Assist in the development and implementation of testing procedures
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Participate in ongoing workflow enhancements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 3+ years experience in broadcast design or game development
• Proficiency working in real-time rendering software, particularly Unreal Engine
• Great organizational skills and motivated to work in a creative environment
• Ability to work within strict timelines in an organized manner
• Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
• Ability to engage in written and verbal communication within and across departments
• Capability to multitask and work effectively in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environment is essential

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Game Development, Software Engineering, or related fields
• Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling platforms, Substance 3D and RizomUV
• Experience with Reality Engine or other compositing systems
