Machine Shop Assistant
Job Summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide general assistance on the shop floor
- Load and unload delivery trucks
- Operate forklift
- Stock raw materials as requested
- Saw material as directed by manager
- Sweep shop floor and clean chips from machines
- Assist machinists with deburring, counting and stacking parts
- Prepare shipments per instructions
- Other duties as specified by manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous shop work experience
- Familiarity with various hand tools
- Capacity to prioritize tasks
- Aptitude for mechanics
- Physically capable of standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 70 lbs.
