What You’ll Do

Project Leadership

• Manage all aspects of land development projects from concept through construction
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, and risk to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
• Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and providing clear communication
• Coordinate internal and external teams to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions

Technical Oversight

• Review and guide site civil design, including grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control, stormwater management, and sustainable site strategies
• Ensure plans, specifications, reports, and permit packages meet technical and regulatory standards
• Apply knowledge of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, NCDOT, and other local permitting processes
• Promote sustainable, resilient design practices

Team Mentorship & Development

• Lead and mentor project teams, providing technical guidance and career development support
• Help shape staffing strategies, workload planning, and team growth
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture

Business Development

• Support proposals, fee estimates, client presentations, and interviews
• Build new client relationships and strengthen existing ones across the Charlotte region
• Collaborate with other offices on multi-disciplinary projects and share best practices

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• PE (Professional Engineer) license in North Carolina required
• 8–25+ years of experience in site/civil engineering design, project management, and team leadership
• Experience in higher education, healthcare, parks and recreation, and/or municipal projects preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, and MS Office Suite
• GIS experience is a plus
