Band Teacher

Job Title: Music Teacher (Grades 6-12)

Overview:

• Seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to teach middle and high school students.
• Responsible for teaching music theory and directing students to prepare for concerts, pep bands, plays and/or musicals.
• Need a person that is passionate about the musical arts and can build relationships with students and the community we live in.

Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive music curriculum. Multiple resources will be provided for support.
• Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging lessons covering acting techniques, vocal training, stagecraft, musical theory, and ensemble performance.
• Directing Productions: Guide students through auditions, rehearsals, and performances of plays and musicals.
• Individualized Support: Provide personalized instruction and encouragement to students.
• Collaboration: Work with faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance the program and create interdisciplinary opportunities.
• Community Engagement: Promote and showcase student performances to parents, families, and the community.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices through workshops, conferences, and networking.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field; Master's degree is a plus!
• Proficiency in directing theatrical productions and technical theater.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Passion for fostering creativity and artistic expression in students.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Availability for after-school rehearsals and performances.

Preferences:

• Valid teaching certification/license.
• Previous teaching experience in middle or high school.
