What You Will Do
- Read blueprints, sketches, and job instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup steps.
- Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, drill presses, and drill machines with the right tools and fixturing.
- Enter, retrieve, and edit CNC programs; monitor cycles and correct malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions immediately.
- Use precision gauges and measurement methods to verify conformance; hold tolerances down to 0.0002 in.
- Rework nonconforming parts to meet specifications.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production personnel to troubleshoot machining issues.
- Adhere to ISO procedures and safety policies; wear PPE and complete hoist inspections.
- Route parts through subsequent operations; update part status and location via computer.
- Maintain accurate paperwork: work order cover sheets, daily production logs, status updates, and quality records.
- Communicate frequently with your team and Team Leads to maintain flow and solve problems.
- Keep your area organized to 5S standards; contribute to cell layout and process improvements.
- Participate in monthly department and quarterly town hall meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience.
Capabilities & Physical Requirements
- Read and interpret safety guidance, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings with supervisors, customers/clients, and peers.
- Perform calculations involving values from 0.0001 to 0.1; convert between metric and U.S. units.
- Follow detailed written and verbal instructions; resolve multi‑variable problems using methods like the 5 Whys.
- Stand and walk for up to 8 continuous hours; lift 35 lbs independently and 70 lbs with assistance repeatedly during an 8‑hour shift; push/pull up to 35 lbs.
- Vision corrected with glasses/contacts to an evaluated level of no worse than 20/35.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical training certification.
- Skill with depth, bore, and height gauges; feeler gauges; micrometers; calipers; deburring tools; die grinders; drill presses; and overhead lifting equipment.
Work Arrangement
Onsite in Mocksville, NC. No travel expected.
