Our law firm has a full-time associate attorney position available now, and we’re looking for the right professional to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. $89,000 yearly

• Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
• Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
• Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
• Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
• Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff

What You’ll Do

• Handle divorce and family law matters from start to finish
• Oversee the drafting of pleadings, motions, and discovery by your paralegal
• Appear in court and advocate for clients
• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
• Learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility as your skills develop

• Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
• Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
• Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
• Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
• Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam
