Laboratory Data Entry Specialist

We are seeking a Laboratory Data Entry Specialist to fill a permanent full-time position on our team with the primary responsibility of entering information into our Laboratory Information System from paper documents. Someone who will work hard, be a team player, have a positive attitude, and possess the drive to be successful. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

Responsibilities

Transcribing test requests from the requisition forms into the Laboratory Information System

Performing QC checks on data entered into the database

Ensuring records are secured, indexed, and archived in a timely manner.

Assembly sample collection kits for customers

Compliance with applicable Regulations and OpAns procedures

Adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA requirements for non-scientific staff:

Other Duties Perform other duties as agreed by management

Requirements and skills

Proven experience as data entry clerk

Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred

Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)

Familiarity and compliance with HIPPA privacy laws for handling patient data.

Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices

Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills

Great attention to detail

High school degree or equivalent
