As a full-time Accountant in the Accounting Department at Aalberts, located in Charlotte, NC. The Accountant will contribute to the accounting functions including maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

your challenge

o Accountable for assigned areas impacting the financial records / reports and ensuring that they are prepared in compliance with company policies and in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.

o Key participant in month-end closing process and submission of results into Aalberts’ consolidation reporting in accordance with strict closing schedule.

o Timely preparation and review of monthly general ledger account reconciliations.

o Analyze the P&L expenses to prepare for the month-end review meetings.

o Key participant with the internal and external audit request schedules throughout the year.

o Provide financial data as needed for compliance, including Federal and State tax reporting, property, sales/use, payroll and other local taxes, benefit administration, insurance reports and other data required by regulation.

o Manage special projects as they arise.

o Improve and optimize internal processes, such as bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting and maintenance of fixed asset software, capital project spend tracking, and certain balance sheet account specific reconciliations.

o Participate in implementation of new ERP system project.

o Reconcile and contact with US and foreign entities within the Aalberts group.

o Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager.

requirements

o Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

o Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

o Minimum 5 years of Public Accounting and / or Private Industry accounting experience.

o Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, cost accounting and financial reporting required.

o Superior attention to detail. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

o Passion for working collaboratively across departmental functions at plants, corporate and affiliates.

o Proficiency with JD Edwards ERP system preferable.

o Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; advanced experience with Excel.

o Excellent communication skills required.

o Ability to handle responsibility, work independently, and maintain good working relationships.
