We are seeking a motivated and skilled Pre-Engineered Metal Building Erector to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient assembly of pre-engineered metal structures, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in steel framing, structural assembly, and general construction tools will be essential to delivering durable, high-quality buildings that meet client expectations.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while continuing to develop your skills in metal building erection. Our office is located in Pittsboro, NC , and most of our work takes place throughout the RTP .

Primary Duties

• Erect and assemble pre-engineered metal building components according to blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer instructions.
  
  
• Read and interpret detailed construction drawings to ensure precise installation.
  
  
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and various power tools to lift, position, and secure structural elements.
  
  
• Use hand and power tools effectively for cutting, welding, bolting, and fastening metal components.
  
  
• Maintain strict adherence to all safety protocols, including PPE compliance and site cleanliness.
  
  
• Assist with fabrication tasks such as trimming or modifying steel components to meet project specifications.
  
  
• Support related construction activities including roofing installation, caulking, trim work, or masonry as required.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in steel or metal building erection with a strong understanding of construction site procedures.
  
  
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for pre-engineered structures.
  
  
• Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery such as cranes and forklifts on active job sites.
  
  
• Knowledge of construction management principles and safety standards relevant to steel erection.
  
  
• Proficiency with common hand tools and power tools used in metal framing and structural assembly.
  
  
• Experience in construction inspection or quality control is highly desirable.
  
  
• Background in related trades—plumbing, electrical, roofing, or concrete work—is a plus but not required.
  
  
• Ability to work safely at heights while maintaining focus, precision, and situational awareness.
