Overview
Tax Senior Manager - Tax Director (Alternative Investments)
Candidates should have a deep understanding of the following:
- Filing requirements related to alternative investment and/or registered investment companies (RICs)
- Partnership taxation to ensure completeness and accuracy of tax compliance and reporting
- Knowledge of key tax issues associated with alternative investment firms, including tax positions referenced by service providers and the impact of potential legislative and regulatory changes
Responsibilities
- Ensure filing requirements related to alternative investments and/or RICs are met
- Manage partnership taxation to ensure completeness and accuracy of tax compliance and reporting
- Understand and address tax issues associated with alternative investment firms, including positions referenced by service providers and potential legislative/regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field; Masters or LLM a plus
- CPA or Bar
- 8+ years of tax-related experience (prior Big-4 firm experience preferred)
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with leadership and outside partners
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with service providers, team members, or other firm members
- Exceptional Excel skills
- Ability to partner collaboratively with other departments including Finance and Legal
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple time-sensitive ad hoc projects
- Interest in improving the tax function by identifying and implementing strategic methodologies or automation tools to improve efficiencies
