Emergency Department/Acute Care Psychiatrist | Coastal NC (Wilmington)

Job Summary

Novant Health New Hanover Regional is seeking a skilled and compassionate ED/Acute Care Psychiatrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry in an emergency department setting, with a focus on providing high-quality psychiatric evaluation and management.

Opportunity Highlights:

• The Inpatient Psychiatrist will care for approximately 8-12 patients a day
• 7 on / 7 off schedule
• Ability to teach Novant Health Psychiatric Residents
• Access to a full spectrum of care options, including ECT, for treatment-resistant mood and psychotic disorders

Candidate Qualifications:

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for disposition (admission, placement, discharge) and provide assessments for inpatients and outpatients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans
• Participate in rounds and case discussions
• Call rotation with other acute care psychiatrists
