Estimator
Heartland Acoustics & Interiors is a renowned subcontractor with over twenty-five years of experience, specializing in a wide range of ceiling and interior solutions. With offices in Denver, San Diego, Austin, San Antonio, Seattle, and Raleigh, we are committed to excellence and client satisfaction. We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator for our Raleigh, North Carolina branch. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth and acquiring new clients, making it an integral part of our business development and sales strategy.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Request material and equipment pricing from vendors and suppliers.
- Prepare detailed, timely, and accurate cost estimates and write detailed proposals for clients.
- Complete takeoff using company estimating procedures and review for accuracy.
- Collaborate with material vendors on pricing and product specifications.
- Engage with customers to clarify scope and address questions.
- Document all questions and responses for record-keeping.
- Complete bid checklist, summary, and preliminary schedule.
- Support management team with final presentations to customers.
- Visit clients to build strong personal and corporate relationships.
- Attend client and industry events outside normal business hours.
- Manage all job-related documents, including paper, electronic, and estimating software.
- Perform project site visits and attend project meetings as assigned.
- Prepare reports for staff or management as directed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction field.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and details.
- Ability to do routine business math calculations.
- Ability to calculate the estimated time and materials necessary to complete the project.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
- Solid understanding of commercial construction terms and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Project management experience in the construction industry of drywall, flooring, or specialty fields.
- Preferred: Experience with Takeoff software.
- Preferred: College degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or business-related field.
- Preferred: Field experience as a subcontractor in construction.
- Preferred: Experience with Sage 100 software.
