River Guide

We offer an array of activities including whitewater rafting, kayak instruction, zip line, aerial course, mountain biking, paintball, horseback riding, and fly fishing. Whether you are looking for a summer job, or to advance your career in the outdoor industry we offer a variety of positions. Working for our company gives you the ability to learn new skills, and become a leader. We are now hiring at our Nantahala Outpost. We are in search of river guides, kayak instructors, kitchen staff, van drivers, and bus drivers.
Come join our team at Whitewater Express in Andrews, NC. If you are interested in a career in the outdoor industry then the Nantahala River is the place to start. The Nantahala River is class II-III, and is a great introduction to whitewater. Experience in whitewater is a bonus, but not required. We are seeking to train hard working individuals who are eager to learn.
Training will begin in May. The main rafting season begins the first week of June. You will need to be available to work the full 8 weeks during peak season. Candidates with less availability may be considered based on hiring need. Mondays through Fridays are our busiest days; however you must be flexible to work weekends as needed. We are also seeking individuals who are willing to work post season. We will have weekend rafting trips into the fall.

Requirements
Besides being a fun and professional river guide there are few other requirements for the job. Candidates must be comfortable in water and know how to swim. It is a plus if you are CPR and First Aid certified. If you are not certified, we will offer a course preseason during guide training. Other job responsibilities will include assisting in camp operations and maintenance. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to be a river guide.

This river is class II-III, and is a great introduction to whitewater. Being a Guide helps you develop your leadership by becoming comfortable giving direction and trusting in your own abilities. Learn new skills while expanding on your own talents. Our free-form guide school teaches you how to read water and understand current.
