*Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:*The UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures is committed to research and teaching at all levels in German, Russian and several other Germanic, Central European, and Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. One of the most vibrant departments of its kind in the nation, GSLL is closely linked with interdisciplinary centers including the UNC Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies, and with the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies. We are also home to the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German Studies, one of the country's leading graduate programs in German.
*Position Summary:*The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures ( is seeking a superior and innovative Teaching Associate Professor in Dutch. The successful applicant will carry a 3/3 teaching load and perform service in the department.
*Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:*Candidates are expected to present evidence of both experience and excellence in teaching Dutch language and literature at a college or university. Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literatures, or a related degree, is required. Native or near-native competence in English and Dutch is required.
