RN- Nurse Manager Progressive Care

Shift: 12-hr Days | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)

Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Position Summary:

The Nurse Manager for Progressive Care is responsible for the clinical and administrative leadership of the nursing unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, staff engagement, and operational efficiency. The Nurse Manager serves as a role model for professional nursing practice, promotes shared decision-making, and leads initiatives to improve patient outcomes and staff performance in a fast-paced Progressive Care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct daily operations of the Progressive Care Unit.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to clinical staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Develop and manage unit budget, staffing plans, and performance improvement projects.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance and clinical outcomes.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices.
• Serve as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and hospital leadership.
• Lead and support change management efforts across the department.

Qualifications You Will Need:

Education:

• Required: BSN or equivalent (ADN with MSN, or BA with MSN)
• Preferred: Master s Degree in Nursing (MSN)

Licensure/Certifications:

• Required:
  • Current RN licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing OR compact eNLC license (must verify eligibility with NCBON).
  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • National Certification in specialty area or leadership within 1 year of accepting the role. If currently pursuing a nursing degree, certification must be obtained within 1 year of graduation .

Experience:

• Required:
  • Minimum of 5 years recent nursing experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical hospital experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Preferred:
  • Previous leadership or management experience in a clinical setting.
