Office Assistant (Part Time)

General Statement of Duties
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is currently seeking a driven and self-motivated individual for a year-round, part-time position as an Office Assistant at Tanglewood Park. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, capable of working independently and collaboratively with our team. This position focuses on customer service, with the primary responsibility of handling public inquiries via phone about Tanglewood Park's amenities and services. The Office Assistant is a key point of contact for our visitors, proficiency in customer service is vital. The scope of responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, managing office tasks such as facility booking within our Park Guest Servies Division. This entails checking guests in and out, delivering online check-in packets, liaising with campground hosts during camping season, and handling point-of-sale systems, cash registers, and facility reservation systems. Candidates should possess strong written and oral communication skills and be flexible to operate across various facilities in our Park Guest Servies Division such as the Welcome Center, Manor House, Gate House, and occasionally the Aquatic Center during summer.

The ideal candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: General knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods and practices General knowledge of and ability to use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. Ability to use a variety of office equipment as required by the position. Ability to type with accuracy at the speed required by the position. Ability to use courtesy and tact in performing public contact duties. Ability to screen communications based on predetermined guidelines in order to respond or route to proper destination. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or GED and at least one year of office/clerical experience. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience. Drivers License is required as you may need to drive to other locations within the park.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Handling office-related tasks such as booking facilities within our Accommodation Division. The sale and distribution of Tanglewood Park Annual Passes. Handling Campground related duties such as checking campers in and out using the online reservation system and send necessary receipts and check in packets. Collaborating with campground hosts during the camping season. Operating point-of-sales systems, cash registers, and facility reservation systems. Assisting, when needed, at the Front Gate and Aquatic Center divisions. Other duties as assigned.
