Telemetry RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800-$1840
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel RN Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 or 1:6, based on patient acuity
• Dress Code: Navy and/or white top, navy bottom, or all white

Telemetry RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proven telemetry nursing competency
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in progressive care, step-down, or telemetry nursing
• Excellent communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective nursing care to medical-surgical and step-down patients in a fast-paced inpatient overflow unit
• Monitor, interpret, and document telemetry data; ensure all patients are hardwired to bedside monitors as indicated
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Support rapid patient turnover and manage short-stay admissions (target length of stay < 24 hours)
• Document all care and assessments using Cerner EMR
• Demonstrate a positive, patient-focused approach with kindness, compassion, and strong teamwork
