Veterinary Radiology Technologist, SAVES

South Asheville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (SAVES) is seeking a full-time Radiology Technologist to join our outstanding team!

Compensation: $34 - $40 per hour, based on experience and certifications. 

Schedule Requirements: Monday - Friday, 6AM - 2PM

Responsibilities:

• Daily use of Radiologic imaging such as X-Ray, MRI and CT.

• Performs X-Ray, MRI, and CT scans with proper technical factors.

• In partnership with the Veterinary Technicians, assists with positioning of patients to ensure appropriate images are captured.

• Trains staff to form standard expectations with all patient imaging, and creates or reviews imaging protocols.

• Works independently or under the guidance of the clinician to modify scan techniques for optimal image quality.

• Troubleshoots image quality issues while performing X-Ray, MRI, and CT.

• Performs routine X-Ray, MRI, and CT quality assurance and reports any concerns in a timely manner.

• Maintains a clean and safe environment and adhere to appropriate restricted access.

• In partnership with the Facilities Manager and service vendors, troubleshoots technology issues with scanners/equipment when needed.

• Opportunities to train as a Veterinary Assistant

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (associate or bachelor’s degree).

• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required

• At least 1 year experience as an MRI Technologist in human medicine

• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
