Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Reports To: Vice President of Operations
Summary of Position:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plays a critical leadership role within US Cargo Systems' manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team to drive operational excellence through cost reduction initiatives, capital improvements, automation, tooling and fixturing, quality control, facility management, insourcing opportunities, and production process optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the ME team to ensure timely completion of tasks and effective communication across departments.
- Drive projects aligned with annual productivity and efficiency goals.
- Own and manage the safety program, including compliance and reporting.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects that support other departments and company-wide initiatives.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to establish process standards and identify required technologies.
- Collaborate across disciplines to enhance production quality, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
- Collect and apply engineering data using defined principles and procedures.
- Develop and implement manufacturing methods, including standard work, process routings, and cost analysis systems.
- Design and prototype tooling and fixtures to support efficient production.
- Use statistical methods and calculations to define manufacturing processes, staffing needs, and product standards.
- Liaise with vendors, staff, and management regarding procurement, procedures, specifications, and project updates.
- Draft and design equipment and tooling using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Pro-E.
- Review production schedules and engineering specifications to inform manufacturing strategies.
- Monitor work areas and equipment to ensure safety compliance and identify hazards.
- Foster strong working relationships across all departments.
- Ensure quality control measures are consistently applied to all assigned activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Manages the Manufacturing Engineering team in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving conflicts.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident).
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and/or Pro-E
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite, (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Regularly moves through factory and lab environments.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds and comply with OSHA standards.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the production floor.
- Must be able to adapt to a traditional business environment.
