Willow Oak Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking applicants for the position of full-time Pastor to lead our church into its next chapter. The candidate God chooses to lead our congregation will exemplify a personal relationship with Jesus and guide our congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission and our mission to Love God, Serve Others, Show Grace, and Share Generously. Our mission is achieved through dual alignment with the Triad Church Network and the Baptist State Convention of NC. We follow: John 3:16 – Matthew 28: 19-20 – Acts 2:21”, “We Do Not agree or conform to the Reformed Baptist sector within the Southern Baptist Convention and Do Not adhere to the Reformed theological tradition, the doctrines of Calvinism or five points of Calvinism”. Job Description
Responsibilities of the Pastor include but are not limited to: Preach the gospel and direct the order of all worship services to ensure they are engaging, biblically based using the King James Version, and spiritually enriching. Coordinate weekly worship services as well as baptisms, fifth Sunday communion services, revivals, weddings, funerals, memorial services, Easter Sunrise Services, baby dedications, etc. Serve as the spiritual and administrative leader of the church, working in cooperation with the deacons (2nd Saturday Monthly Meeting), staff, and other ministries to meet the needs of the church. Follow up with visitors and contact members who are in need of spiritual encouragement. Work with leadership and staff to plan for the church’s growth and relevant community outreach. This includes designing, implementing, and evaluating the most effective ministries to achieve our mission. Recommendations presented to Deacon Board before submitting to church for approval. Lead programs and initiatives focusing on every generation’s spiritual growth and engagement. Show a compassionate heart for people, visiting individuals in need, sick, shut-in, bereaved, care facilities, hospitals, etc. The pastor is willing to pray with people and offer pastoral counseling. Members of the Deacon Board are available to go with pastor during visits assisting as needed.
Spiritual Maturity: Demonstrates a deep, personal relationship with God and a connection to their faith. The pastor should live the teachings of their faith, show love, compassion, and forgiveness when interacting with others. He should have spiritual wisdom and maturity to meet challenges with biblical truth.
Inspiring Preacher: Shows a love to study and teach the Word of God. Demonstrates the ability to prepare and deliver biblically sound, spiritually enriching sermons that make the gospel relevant to everyday life. He should have a comprehensive knowledge of the Bible and regularly study theology and biblical doctrine.
Moral Person: Displaying integrity, humility, gentleness, and compassion to all. He should be a respected family Christian leader accordingly to God’s word.
Leadership and Vision: Capable of working with church organizations planning, decision-making, delegating, managing conflicts and stress in alignment with the church’s mission, vision, and core values.
Effective Communicator: Displays outstanding verbal and written communication skills including online and social media platforms.
Church Unity: Excels in maintaining a cohesive church staff and congregation while skillfully navigating diverse opinions to foster unity and growth.
Personable Nature: Possesses a warm, inviting, and approachable personality with the ability to establish trust and credibility with the congregation.
Community and Relationship Building: Demonstrates commitment to fostering meaningful relationships by attending and participating in our church and community events. Work with other church’s leaders within the community so that others may come to know the Lord and find salvation in Him.

Educational Background and Work Experience: Three to Five or more years of experience as an ordained church pastor is preferred. Degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school.

Working Conditions: The pastor must have flexibility in the hours available for work, including evenings, holidays, and weekends. The pastor should be accessible for a sufficient amount of time to meet with church members, prospects, and staff.

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation package is proportionate with experience.
