Experienced Automotive Technician / Diagnostic Mechanic

Location: Wilmington, NC

Privately owned mechanic shop is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician /
Diagnostic Mechanic to join our growing team.

We are rebuilding and strengthening our shop with a fresh start and looking for someone who wants to grow with us long-term. This is a hands-on shop environment where you will work on dealership inventory, performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to prepare vehicles for sale.

This is not a corporate dealership environment. We offer a steady workflow, a team-oriented atmosphere, and the opportunity to be part of building strong systems from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough vehicle inspections and document findings
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Timing chains and timing belts
• Water pump replacements
• Suspension and steering repairs
• Brake jobs and preventative maintenance
• Oil changes and basic maintenance
• Cooling system repairs
• Engine diagnostics and repairs
• Electrical troubleshooting
• CV axles and drivetrain repairs
• General repair and troubleshooting
• Maintain organization and workflow on assigned jobs
• Communicate clearly with management and team members

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience preferred
• Must have your own tools
• Strong diagnostic ability
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• Comfortable with technology, scan tools, and digital workflow
• Able to thoroughly inspect vehicles and properly identify repair needs
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable and accountable
• Willing to learn and grow

Preferred Experience:

• Engine replacements
• Transmission replacements
• Advanced electrical diagnostics
• Timing work
• Suspension systems
• European vehicle experience (plus)
