OR RN Team Leader

Operating Room Team Leader (RN) – Full-Time Position – Raleigh Location

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Team Leader (Registered Nurse) to support daily operations in our high-volume orthopaedic ambulatory surgery centers. This role combines hands-on perioperative care with clinical leadership, partnering closely with the OR Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including circulating and scrub duties as needed
• Lead and support OR staff, serving as a clinical resource and role model
• Assist with daily staffing, room assignments, case flow, and room turnover
• Ensure compliance with aseptic technique, safety standards, and perioperative best practices
• Perform surgical time-outs and patient/procedure/site verification
• Coordinate patient hand-offs with Pre-op and PACU teams
• Support supply management, sterile processing, implant verification, and specimen handling
• Monitor equipment functionality and report/remove faulty equipment
• Cover OR Manager duties during absences, including after-hours phone responsibilities
• Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active North Carolina RN license
• 3+ years ambulatory surgery OR experience
• Prior OR Charge Nurse or Team Lead experience required
• BSN preferred
• CNOR preferred; CAPA or CPAN a plus
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour rotating shifts per week, scheduled according to OR needs

Compensation:

• $80,000–93,000 per year, commensurate with experience
