We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a Smithfield account based out of Tar Heel, NC . This is a hybrid position offering consistent miles, steady schedules, and a mix of local and regional work.
Position Details:
- Location: Tar Heel, NC
- Job Type: Hybrid – Local & Regional
- Home Time: Weekly
- Operating Radius: ~300 miles
Pay & Compensation:
- Average: $1,172 per week ($60,961/year)
- Top Earners: $1,613 per week ($83,897/year)
- Paid by the load (based on experience)
- Consistent miles and routes
Miles & Freight:
- Average: ~1,500 miles per week
- No-touch freight
- Mix of local and OTR runs
Schedule:
- Hybrid schedule:
- 12-hour local shifts
- 2–3 OTR runs per week
- Start Time: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Typical schedules:
- Sunday–Thursday
- Tuesday–Saturday
- Night driving required
- Must be available for weekends and holidays
Job Duties:
- Deliver freight within regional operating area
- Handle both local and OTR assignments
- Maintain on-time and safe deliveries
Equipment:
- Slip seat operation
- Trucks cannot be taken home
- Must have reliable transportation to commute

- Tar Heel, NC
Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Must meet DOT and safety requirements
- Must be comfortable with:
- Night driving
- Hybrid (local + OTR) schedules
- Weekend and holiday work
