• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
• Location: Louisburg, NC 27549 (North Carolina healthcare job)
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: November 10, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1610
• Setting: Acute Behavioral Health – Geriatric and Adult Psychiatric Units
• Electronic Health Record: Paragon
• Orientation: Weekly, on Mondays

Qualifications for Psychiatric Registered Nurse

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Current BLS certification
• Handle With Care certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or mental health nursing
• Ability to float between geriatric and adult behavioral health units
• Willingness to work night shifts, including weekends
• Strong professionalism and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment
• Dress code: Blue or black scrubs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to geriatric and adult psychiatric patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress using Paragon EHR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Educate patients and families on behavioral health conditions, psychiatric care, and treatment plans
• Respond effectively to crisis situations and participate in de-escalation and crisis intervention as needed
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
