Description: The Nurse Manager assesses, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical and operational functions of a nursing unit. This role ensures quality, cost-effective healthcare is delivered by an educated and competent team. It promotes a safe environment and ensures all related job responsibilities are performed in compliance with professional and clinical standards. The Nurse Manager is responsible for achieving high-quality patient outcomes through collaboration with interdisciplinary partners. The position involves compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, regulatory standards, and organizational policies. The Nurse Manager leads the team to accomplish goals aligned with organizational objectives. Responsibilities include quality management, patient care, and adherence to departmental standards. This role assumes responsibility for recruitment, orientation, education, and ongoing development of personnel through structured programs. Shared governance and professional growth are promoted to positively impact clinical outcomes. The Nurse Manager may perform nursing interventions and patient care as necessary. Effective communication with patients and families is essential. Oversight of the financial performance of the unit is required, ensuring cost-effective operations. Assistance in policy development and adherence to professional standards is a key responsibility. The Nurse Manager maintains accountability for budgetary oversight and staff performance. Additional education, training, or experience may be required by the department.
