HR Generalist
Accentuate Staffing is seeking a knowledgeable, proactive, and hands-on HR Generalist to support recruiting, employee relations, payroll processing, benefits administration, onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations. This role partners closely with leadership and employees across the organization to ensure efficient HR processes, payroll accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who operates with urgency, takes ownership of responsibilities, and proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes and support organizational growth. This position requires someone comfortable balancing broad HR responsibilities with detailed payroll administration and construction-related payroll compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruiting efforts, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and offer administration
- Coordinate onboarding and new hire orientation processes, including completion of required employment documentation
- Maintain employee records and ensure HR documentation remains accurate, organized, and compliant
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and support annual open enrollment activities
- Support employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary meetings, and performance management processes as needed
- Partner with managers regarding staffing needs, employee relations, and HR best practices
- Support training initiatives and HR-related organizational programs
- Stay current on HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, PTO balances, and employee payroll changes
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, payroll reporting, and payroll-related general ledger support
- Support payroll analytics and labor reporting, including payroll-related P&L impacts and labor cost analysis
- Coordinate and support certified payroll reporting requirements, including Davis-Bacon compliance reporting
- Support CCIP/OCIP payroll reporting and related documentation requirements
- Assist with payroll audits, insurance audits, and compliance reporting requests
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax and employment-related reporting requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, Payroll Specialist, or similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is a plus
- Experience processing payroll and supporting payroll-related reporting and reconciliations
- Strong understanding of HR functions, employment practices, and payroll processes
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with payroll data and reporting
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Experience in construction, contracting, or project-based industries preferred
- Experience with ADP, Paylocity, Sage, WorkMax, or similar systems preferred
