Fire Alarm Installer

Role Overview
As a Fire Installer V, you will install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems and related building system products at customer sites. This role places a strong emphasis on networked fire alarm systems, while also supporting panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, low-voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, programming, troubleshooting, configuration, commissioning, and servicing of fire alarm systems.
- Handle panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, low-voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing.
- Support the programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, with primary focus on networked fire alarm systems.
- Respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner and complete troubleshooting and repair work as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, software/system programs, and operational/product manuals.
- Supervise and inspect equipment installation to help ensure customer and contract specifications are met.
- Organize technical resources, information, materials, and support to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Complete required certification courses and submit task, activity, productivity, and other documentation on time.

- Own each service call with safety, accountability, and integrity, and deliver work that customers can rely on.
- Stay close to the work, understand the site conditions, and remove obstacles quickly so customer issues are resolved without delay.
- Use a methodical approach to diagnostics, test the system thoroughly, and work toward the root cause rather than temporary fixes.
- Keep communication clear with customers, dispatch, and teammates so everyone understands the plan, status, and next steps.
- Apply a continuous-improvement mindset by documenting findings accurately, sharing candid observations, and learning from each job.
- Work collaboratively across functions and sites, drawing on the strengths of the team to deliver the best result.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety Systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- Basic understanding of network concepts and architectures.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to lead and work well with team members.
- Ability to follow and always apply safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Ability to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
Nice to Have
- Two-year Associate's Degree in Electronics, Network, Computer Science, or a related field.
- NICET level II, or the ability to obtain it within the first year.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28.70-$40.38 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
