Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Locum Tenens)
• Healthcare Setting: Adult Respiratory Services, Acute Care Facility
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12 Hour Days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1350 - $1380

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting
• Active North Carolina Respiratory License (required for North Carolina RRT jobs)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) Certification
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• NRP and ACCS certifications preferred
• Ability to float to all critical care units and hospital floors as needed

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy services to adult patients in an acute care environment
• Operate and manage advanced respiratory equipment: GE R860 Adult vents, Draeger Infant/Peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, Hamilton C1 vent, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
• Accurately document patient care and clinical interventions using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Float to various critical care units and hospital floors as required for clinical support
• Comply with facility policies, procedures, and dress code (medium gray/pewter scrubs)
