Title: Cloud Database Administrator

Location: Fully in-office in Winston Salem, NC

This is an individual contributor position that works under general supervision and manages and supports Oracle databases, with a focus on high performance, reliability, integrity and recoverability. This position lends analytical and development expertise to meet business availability and performance requirements.

As a dynamic and resourceful professional, we will rely on you to perform the following duties:

• Recommend, administer, and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the security of Oracle, Postgres, and SQL Server user and system security.
• Install, upgrade and patch Oracle, Postgres, and SQL Server RDBMS in development, test and production environment for LInux and Windows. This includes client software.
• Create structures, configure, maintain, support and modify both standalone and cloud-based Oracle, Postgres, and SQL Server databases. Plan, allocate and configure database storage systems to support short- and long-term strategic initiatives.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of the database; configure memory and disk resources to optimize database performance; detect and resolve contention problems within the Oracle database environment; Identify and resolve I/O, data storage and database configuration problems; identify and tune the SQL and PL/SQL statements that are slowing down database processes.
• Implement and validate database backup and recovery support. Provide design guidelines for database operating systems customizations.
• Review daily/weekly audit and backup reports.
• Provide advanced database support for internal developers and any database-related technical issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with cloud computing software.
• Experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems.
• Ability to provide technical on-call 24/7 production support on a rotating basis.
• Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements.
• Knowledge of SQL and UNIX scripting.
• Ability to write interface / automate scripts using Perl and/or Unix scripting languages.
• Ability to analyze and make sound decisions when selecting 3rd party tools.
• Ability to follow prescribed methods and procedures.
• Ability to work within a team-based environment.
• Ability to manage time to accomplish tasks.
• Skill with attention to detail.
• Skill in analyzing and solving problems quickly and under time constraints.
