Land one of the best smelling jobs around! Since 2007, Luella's Bar-B-Que has been committed to providing genuine hospitality and great food in an energetic, casual and friendly environment. We strive to build a crew of caring people who possess self-discipline and enjoy working in the restaurant profession. We operate North Asheville and South Asheville locations and a large catering department. We are locally and independently owned, food quality driven, and well known for our fun and eclectic work environments and memorable guest experiences. We are looking for qualified hospitality professionals like yourself to help us continue to grow and add new stores in the Asheville area!
The line cook is responsible for maintaining our excellent standards in food safety, cleanliness and sanitation. A strong focus is placed on food quality and consistency. The line cook must also care for and continually strive for professional development and training.
Full-Time and Part-Time considered.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess at least 90% of the following:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, and hear
- The employee is required to be on their feet for a large portion of the day/shift
- The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and perform repetitive motions; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel tools or controls; must be able to lift and /or move heavy objects including tables and cases of food and beverage; must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overhead
- Must be able to sustain constant mental and visual attention
- Must be able to work in a kitchen environment, including hot areas, hot tools, hot plates, sharp knives and tools
- Flexible schedule can vary from week to week; work required on weekends and holidays
- A natural surplus of hospitality extended to guests, employees and vendors no matter the circumstances
- An unusually attentive focus on details and a compulsive desire to make even the smallest details perfect
- Excellent communication skills required
- Kitchen experience is preferred, but not required
- Must be able to work during the week, on weekends, and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years of age

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Takes a personal responsibility in helping to keep the kitchen as clean as possible
- Assist other back of house team members as needed
- Assist with stocking, organizing and cleaning kitchen and cooking utensils
- Follows recipe book with no deviations when:
- cooling, packaging, labeling, and freezing foods for later consumption and provide instructions for reheating
- peeling, washing, trimming, cooking, baking, roasting, smoking, steaming, etc. vegetables, meats, and other food items
- weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
- portioning, arranges, plating and garnishing food
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Prepares food for dine-in, takeout, delivery, catering and events
- Works other stations prep, or dish, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
