Med/Surg RN Job Details – Hickory, NC

• Location: Hickory, NC 28601 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) – 17-18 beds
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/9/2025 – End: 2/8/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1710–$1750
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
• Float Requirements: Ability to float to all areas of the healthcare facility

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Strong clinical skills and ability to float to all units as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Monitor and document patient conditions and progress using Cerner EHR
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units within the facility as required
