Custom Order Engineer
- Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
- Develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
- Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements.
- Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
- Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
- Demonstrate advanced computer skills with ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS).
- Consult with Quality in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.
- Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
- Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
- Conduct technical training guidance and seminars, as required.
- Analyze needs and recommends revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering from accredited institution.
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.

- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing Internship/Co-Op experience.
- Knowledge of power distribution products (LV and MV Switchgear, Panelboards and Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, etc.).
- Previous knowledge or experience with PLC or relay programming.
- Previous experience with AutoCAD.
- Project Management experience.
- Strong analytical, computer, writing, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information to customers and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering & design.
