Position Summary

The AI Engineer internship offers aspiring artificial intelligence professionals the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions. Interns will work closely with the Data Science team to build new Generative AI applications or maintain and enhance existing ones. This role emphasizes value generation across various business functions, including Demand Generation, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Corporate Operations.

Interns will gain hands-on experience with modern AI tools and platforms, including Snowflake, Cortex AI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and custom-built solutions for AI agents. The internship is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in Python and SQL, and a passion for applying Generative AI to real-world challenges.

Essential Job Duties

  • Follow and execute directives issued by Data Science team members.
  • Develop and maintain features for Generative AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into AI capabilities.
  • Work with Snowflake as a data warehouse to support AI workflows.
  • Utilize platforms such as Cortex AI and Microsoft Copilot Studio to build AI agents.
  • Contribute to embedding LLMs into enterprise applications and support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) implementations.
  • Create documentation and presentation materials to support solution development and delivery.
  • Monitor solution performance and metrics, escalating issues as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • Successful completion of undergraduate coursework (or reputable trade program) in computer science, data science, or related technical field.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Exposure to Generative AI development, LLM integration, and RAG techniques.
  • Familiarity with Data warehouses, such as Snowflake, and AI platforms, including Snowflake Cortex AI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and N8N.
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and enterprise solution development.

  • Capable of working with diverse teams.

Education Requirements

  • Working toward completion of undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or related technical field preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate hands-on and general knowledge coursework in AI engineering or data science.
  • Demonstrated hands-on lab experience in coding, analysis, and documentation.
  • Ability to speak to AI or software projects completed during education and training.

Certification Requirements

  • None expected, but certificates obtained during coursework (e.g., AI, ML, cloud platforms) are a plus.
