Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Unit: Cardiac Telemetry
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: January 12, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13–20 weeks (flexible contracts available)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Float Requirement: Yes, to other telemetry units as needed
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend days per 6-week schedule

Telemetry Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Active North Carolina or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be valid by start date)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proven experience with cardiac drips (Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, Heparin)
• Expertise in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac rhythm management
• Willingness to float to other telemetry units as needed
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• First-time travel nurses welcome to apply

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage adult patients requiring telemetry, including those with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemakers, or defibrillators
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips and medications according to hospital protocols
• Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more)
• Document patient care accurately using Epic and adhere to SBAR communication standards
• Float to additional cardiac telemetry units as needed to support patient care
• Maintain compliance with attendance and call-off policies
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced clinical environment
