About Position: The primary responsibility of the Dietician is to provide nutrition care and education to Piedmont Health SeniorCare participants and provide oversight of dietary services. The Dietician will evaluate the participants nutritional status, develop and implement nutritional care plans, assess nutrient requirements, recommend nutritional prescriptions, evaluate participant tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional care and communicate nutritional data and information to the physician's and other health professionals.

- Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Duties/ Responsibilities –
- Order supplements/supplies.
- Ability to accurately assess participants utilizing age-appropriate information; makes appropriate recommendations for texture modified diet based on assessment of participant.
- Accurately calculates protein, calorie and fluid requirements for normal and specific disease states; accurately calculates nutrient breakdown of tube feedings.
- Makes appropriate recommendations for supplement, enteral tube feedings or parenteral nutrition changes, as appropriate, based on assessment of participants.
- Monitors monthly weight changes with development of appropriate interventions.
- Sets nutritional goals in care plan process; completes caloric intake assessments and appropriately summarizes results.
- Appropriately incorporates knowledge of therapeutic diets when conducting participant education sessions.
- Evaluates competencies and potential to comply with nutrition counseling.
Qualifications –
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution approved by an ACEND accredited institution (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) with a major in nutrition.
Required: Degree and Licensure's
- Ability to teach; analytical thinking
- Ability to provide care to geriatric participants; knowledge of clinical dietetics
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Preferred: Master's Degree preferred. One year of experience with the frail or elderly preferred. Clinical dietetics experience preferred.

Current/valid License: Registered dietitian and licensed dietitian in the state of NC (so RD, LDN).
Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.
Pay Range: $53,827 - $72,339
