Starting Salary: $70,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects from the handoff between Business Development and Operations through project completion. This role manages planning, scope and risk management, issue escalation, resolution strategies, contingency planning, and overall project control.
The Project Manager works closely with internal teams and customers to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget , while maintaining strong communication and alignment among all stakeholders. The role also assists the Service Manager with look-ahead scheduling to ensure appropriate resources are available when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of each project's contract terms, conditions, deliverables, inclusions, and exclusions.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers, AIMS Business Development, and Operations.
- Manage customer expectations and maintain communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain project schedules, monitor field progress, and guide project decisions to meet schedule targets.
- Coordinate and track changes to project scope, including preparing and executing change orders.
- Prepare and manage drawing revisions and obtain customer approvals for project changes.
- Identify and assess project risks related to budget, schedule, quality, and cost, and coordinate mitigation strategies.
- Conduct on-site inspections to understand job specifications and ensure compliance with project scope.
- Schedule and lead internal project review and summary meetings.
- Track project costs to monitor profitability and ensure accurate customer invoicing.
- Support look-ahead scheduling to ensure proper resource planning.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to department employees.
- Maintain a positive work environment and deliver exceptional service to customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects from concept through completion .
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the sanitary sewer, storm drain, or infrastructure industry , such as:
- Journeyman Service Technician
- Project Construction or Rehabilitation roles
- Related field positions
- Strong knowledge of:
- Sanitary sewer manholes
- Storm drain manholes
- Underground vaults and well systems
- Installation methods and infrastructure systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and fixture layouts .
- Proficiency in operating departmental equipment and understanding its maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations , including job setup, fall protection, and public safety requirements.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to build positive working relationships in a multi-cultural environment .
- Strong leadership skills and ability to influence without formal authority.
- Ability to establish credibility with employees, vendors, and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and company MRP systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering analysis, calculations, and specifications (preferred).
