MOBILITY TECHNICIAN (CNA) position. Under supervision, will assist the medical, nursing, and therapy staff by performing delegated tasks that involve mobilizing patients, and setting up mobility events for patients. Participates in unit and selected departmental activities to promote effective problem solving and communication.

Typical duties in this role include:

• Equipment maintenance includes periodic monitoring, safety inspection, and regular cleaning, maintenance, and set up. (mobility equipment walkers, mechanical lift, etc)
• Collaborate with therapy and nursing staff to set up daily mobility events for patients, monitor tolerance of events, and communicate tolerance and issues to RN and therapy staff.
• Direct patient care includes exercise, mobilizing, ambulating or positioning as directed by nursing staff.
• Provides patient care under supervision of nursing staff.
• Documents mobility activities in EMR
• Communicates abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to RN promptly.
• Participates in ongoing training activities with therapy and RN staff to promote safe patient handling practices. Attends and participates in in-services and continuing education programs.

Competitive candidates will have experience providing direct patient care in a hospital setting and exhibit clear and concise communication skills.

High School graduation AND six months experience involving customer service in a health care setting OR six months experience involving direct patient care OR equivalent education/experience.

Must have a current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with NC State

Must have current BLS certification
