Acute Care RN Job Details

• Location: Marion, North Carolina 28752 (Western NC, near Asheville and Charlotte)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Unit (Main Building, 2nd Floor)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570–$1610
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Unit Details: 23 beds, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio (night shift), team includes Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs)
• EMR System: Cerner
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (ICU experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to float to the Emergency Department (ED) as needed
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records preferred

Acute Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to acute care patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment in Cerner
• Collaborate with physicians, PCTs, and unit secretaries to deliver optimal patient outcomes
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform nursing procedures as required
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Support a positive patient experience and foster a collaborative healthcare team environment
• Float to other units, including the Emergency Department, as needed
