Junior AI/ML Developer (Products & IT Service Support)

Grant Leading Technology is seeking a candidate for Junior AI/ML Engineering (Products & IT Service Support) to join our dynamic team. This early-career role is ideal for who can contribute to the design, development, and support of GLT’s AI products, reusable accelerators, and innovation initiatives.
The selected candidate will work on applied AI use cases such as generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), automation, analytics, cyber security products and intelligent web applications, while also supporting internal IT operations through structured helpdesk and IT service management responsibilities. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across AI engineering, product development, and enterprise IT support.
The role includes some front-end development using Angular for internal tools and dashboards but remains primarily focused on AI/ML engineering and product enablement. The role will support IT Service Management (ITSM) and Helpdesk functions for enterprise systems, AI-ML Products and users.
This position will be remote, and the hours are 8 am to 5 pm EST.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, testing, and enhancement of AI-enabled internal products, prototypes, and reusable solution accelerators
- Build and maintain Python-based services, APIs, and backend components for AI-powered internal tools
- Assist with development of generative AI solutions including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, agent-based workflows, and model evaluation processes
- Prepare and process structured and unstructured data for AI/ML workflows, analytics, and experimentation
- Develop reusable scripts, automation tools, and integrations to improve internal productivity and system efficiency
- Support front-end development using Angular and modern web technologies for internal dashboards, portals, and user interfaces
- Collaborate on full-stack development by integrating UI, APIs, data layers, and cloud infrastructure
- Assist with containerization and deployment using Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Support MLOps/DevOps//Cyber Ops practices including CI/CD pipelines, version control, monitoring, and logging
- Participate in testing, validation, and performance tuning of AI models and applications
- Document system architecture, workflows, technical designs, and user guides
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate internal business needs into technical solutions
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support for internal users, including hardware, software, network access, and AI applications-related issues, troubleshooting, access issues, etc.
- Support user account management, onboarding / offboarding process, access provisioning, and basic identity/access control tasks in accordance with company policies
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including system setup, permissions, and environment configuration
- Monitor system alerts, respond to incidents, and escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when required
- Maintain and update internal documentation, knowledge bases, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides
- Support patching, updates, and routine maintenance of internal systems and tools
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous service improvement
- Ensure adherence to IT policies, security practices, and operational procedures
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Masters of Science in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (recent graduates encouraged)
- Zero to two (0–2) years of experience (including internships, research, or academic projects) in AI/ML, software development, or data engineering
- Strong programming skills in Python; working knowledge of SQL, Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript preferred
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, deep learning, generative AI (LLMs, NLP, or computer vision), or agentic AI
- Familiarity with APIs, REST services, and basic backend development
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker) is preferred
- Basic understanding of SDLC, version control (Git), and CI/CD concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug technical issues across systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with generative AI frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain, LLM APIs)
- Familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases, or agent-based systems
- Experience with Angular or other front-end frameworks (React, Vue) for internal tools
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) or logging frameworks
- Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management
- Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and enterprise IT environments
- Experience with scripting for automation (Python, Bash or similar)
- Interest in building scalable internal tools and AI-driven enterprise solutions
- Exposure to IT support, troubleshooting, or helpdesk environments (academic, internship, or professional) is preferred
