Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled NDI Technician specializing in Ultrasonic Testing (A-Scan and Thickness) to support aerospace-grade non-destructive inspections. The technician will be responsible for evaluating materials, components, and systems using non-invasive methods to ensure compliance with engineering and quality standards—without causing damage to the parts being tested. This is a critical quality assurance role requiring precision, technical expertise, and adherence to stringent certification and documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive inspections using methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), and potentially other NDI techniques (e.g., liquid penetrant, eddy current, radiography, etc.).
• Set up, calibrate, and standardize inspection equipment and processes in accordance with technical requirements.
• Interpret and evaluate test results to determine acceptability or rejection of parts per engineering specifications.
• Establish testing techniques and develop inspection processes from approved procedures or work instructions.
• Conduct performance checks and system audits in accordance with applicable process standards.
• Document inspection findings, prepare reports, and initiate corrective actions or non-conformance reports as necessary.
• Provide technical guidance, oversight, and training to less experienced technicians or trainees.
• Assume responsibility for facility, equipment, and personnel compliance with NDI/NDT regulations.
• Prepare, verify, and approve procedures and work instructions for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Support certification and testing of personnel through exams and hands-on training.

Required Qualifications

• Must possess NAS-410 Certification specific to Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
• Proven experience and documentation of:
• Level I and Level II UT training (must provide proof).
• A minimum of 800 hours in Ultrasonic Testing, signed off by a Level III NDI professional.
• Proficiency in A-Scan and Thickness Ultrasonic Testing techniques.Experience working with Graphite Composites, particularly in aerospace applications.

Ability and readiness to complete:

• General Exam on Day 1.
• Specific and Practical Exams within the first week of hire.
• Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and customer engineering requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (if any)

• Familiarity with additional NDI methods (e.g., eddy current, radiography, thermography, etc.).
• Prior experience in an aerospace manufacturing or MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) environment.
• Experience with inspection software and digital reporting tools.

• Level I and II UT Training Documentation – Required
• Level III sign-off for UT hours – Required
