Clinical Medical Assistant Lead – Trainer

We are seeking a hands-on Clinical Medical Assistant Lead – Trainer to support the development and performance of our MA team within a fast-paced orthopedic practice. This role combines direct patient care with a strong focus on training, onboarding, and staff development, while supporting efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead training, onboarding, and mentorship of new Medical Assistants
• Conduct competency assessments and provide ongoing coaching and performance support
• Serve as a clinical resource for MA staff and reinforce best practices
• Assist with staffing coordination and provide coverage support as needed
• Support daily clinic operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and provider productivity
• Assist providers with orthopedic procedures (injections, casting, splinting, brace application)
• Room patients, obtain vitals, and accurately document medical histories in the EMR
• Prepare patients for exams and provide education on treatments and post-procedure care
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols
• Support quality initiatives, workflow improvements, and clinical documentation standards
• Assist with supply management, inventory, and implementation of new processes or systems
• Collaborate with leadership and participate in staff meetings and training initiatives

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CMA/RMA preferred
• 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in orthopedics or specialty care
• Experience in clinical coordination, compliance, or leadership preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and clinical workflows
• Experience with EMR systems and documentation processes
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
