Structural Engineer III

As a Structural Engineer III, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for projects of intermediate complexity. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and cross-disciplinary teams, lead small project scopes, and mentor junior staff. Structural Engineers at CRB contribute to a wide range of impactful projects, including projects in Life Sciences & Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage discipline-specific design scope and budget on small to mid-sized projects.
- Develop construction drawing packages and specifications with minimal oversight.
- Conduct and lead field surveys, site walks, and construction field reporting.
- Identify and document non-compliant existing conditions during site visits.
- Interface with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Support proposal development and contribute to internal training presentations.
- Lead squad checks and discipline reviews to ensure design quality.
- Mentor Engineer I and Designer I/II team members.
- Assist in system design programming and master planning with senior support.
Qualifications
Required
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a design firm or similar setting.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., RISA, Enercalc, Tedds).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with structural material codes and applicable building standards.
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or in-progress.
- Experience coordinating with construction trade partners and vendors.
- Strong skills in structural design calculations with limited supervision.
- Basic troubleshooting experience with structural systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
