Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong focus on physical packaging and CAD design . This role is heavily centered on 3D modeling and mechanical layout of electrical systems , supporting the design and development of complex assemblies.

This position is ideal for someone who excels at converting 2D drawings into detailed 3D models , with hands-on experience designing wire harnesses, cable routing, and electrical enclosures .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models of electrical systems and components using tools such as Creo, NX, or similar

• Convert 2D electrical drawings into fully realized 3D models and assemblies

• Design and route wire harnesses, cables, and connectors for complex systems

• Create and modify electrical panel layouts and packaging designs

• Manage and organize large assemblies within CAD environments

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability

• Ensure designs meet applicable regulatory and compliance standards (UL, IEC, etc.)

• Support design reviews and incorporate feedback into revisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Strong experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Creo (preferred)

• Proven ability to work with both 2D and 3D design environments

• Experience with:

  • Wire harness and cable routing design

  • Connector and electrical packaging design

  • Large assembly management within CAD systems

• Solid understanding of electrical design principles and system layouts

• Familiarity with UL, IEC, and other relevant compliance standards

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design tasks

• First shift position

• Interview process: Teams interview + potential final round

• Contract duration: 3–6 months , with potential for extension

Nice to Have

• Experience with NX or other advanced 3D CAD platforms

• Background in industrial equipment, manufacturing, or complex systems design

• Prior experience supporting prototype or production environments
