Locum MD (Medical Doctor);DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Ob/Gyn
Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Roanoke Rapids. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the well-being of patients and the success of our healthcare projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse medical cases and contribute to the community's health.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting medical examinations and assessments of obstetric and gynecological patients.
- Developing and implementing patient care plans in line with best medical practices.
- Performing surgical procedures as needed, such as C-sections and hysterectomies.
- Providing prenatal care and monitoring the health of pregnant women.
- Offering guidance and support to patients on reproductive health issues.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Documenting patient medical histories, symptoms, and treatment plans accurately.
- Participating in medical rounds, conferences, and training sessions as required.
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
- Demonstrated experience in providing OB/GYN medical care.
- Strong surgical skills with proficiency in obstetric and gynecological procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts
Setting: Inpatient call, Level II nursery
Delivery Volume: 19 per month
Daily Volume: 2 inpatients, 2 admissions, 1 ED case
No ICU or code responsibilities
Support Staff: Anesthesia, general surgery backup
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
