EHS Manager (Construction, Heavy Industrial)
Accentuate Staffing is assisting a growing company within the steel production and distribution industry who is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity working 1st shift and any on call time as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety programs across 2 NC sites
- Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and best practices
- Conduct site audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections; ensure audit readiness at all times
- Identify hazards, investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Partner with site leadership to solve safety and compliance issues proactively
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable environmental regulations
- Deliver safety training and coaching to supervisors and employees
- Track and report EHS metrics, trends, and corrective action plans
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and culture
- Support new process rollouts and operational changes with EHS guidance
Requirements:
- EHS leadership experience in construction, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proven experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Experience preparing for and supporting regulatory or customer audits
- Ability to influence and coach leaders and frontline employees
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel between sites as needed
- EHS certifications (ASP, CSP, CHST, or similar) are a plus
