Position: Fire Academy/Firefighter/Firefighter Apparatus Operator

A Fire Apparatus Operator (also known as a fire driver or engineer) is a key member of a firefighting crew, responsible for operating fire department vehicles and carrying out various duties, including:

Driving: Operate the fire apparatus to transport personnel to and from emergency calls and ensure roadway safety around the apparatus.
Operating Equipment: Operate pumps, aerial ladders, and other necessary firefighting equipment.
Performing Maintenance: Conduct routine tests, inspections, and servicing of the apparatus and equipment.
Firefighting: Assist in extinguishing fires and supplying water to fire sprinkler systems.
Fire Prevention: Engage in fire prevention activities to help reduce risks.
Emergency Medical Care: Respond to medical emergencies such as heart attacks and seizures, providing necessary medical care.
Rescue Operations: Perform rescue and extrication operations, including searching for trapped victims in burning structures.
Customer Service: Demonstrate courtesy and sensitivity, responding promptly to the needs of the public.
Coordination: Plan and organize daily work tasks, prioritizing work to ensure timely completion.
Safety: Follow all safety protocols and maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Physical Requirements:
The position requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, as well as specific visual abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
