We are seeking a Senior Principal Software Systems Engineer to lead the development of advanced software systems for medical devices, contributing to solutions that support clinicians and patients alike.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Principal Software Systems Engineer, you will:
- Lead Innovation: Champion best practices in software systems development and lifecycle management, driving forward-thinking solutions in healthcare technology.
- Provide Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Solve Complex Problems: Design and implement solutions to challenging software system issues, delivering high-quality results under tight timelines.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with commercial, clinical, and engineering teams to translate user needs into clear system requirements.
- Manage Risk: Conduct thorough risk analyses for software systems, identifying hazards and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Define Testing Strategies: Partner with verification engineers to develop robust test plans and ensure traceability of requirements.
- Participate in Design Reviews: Contribute to design reviews, offering insights to enhance product functionality and usability.
- Drive Agile Execution: Estimate, plan, and deliver tasks using agile methodologies to keep projects on track.
- Enhance Team Collaboration: Promote process improvements and technical mentorship across internal and external stakeholders.
- Support Design Transfer: Collaborate with manufacturing, service, and training teams to ensure smooth product integration.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to quality systems and regulatory standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
- Experience with electro-mechanical devices (preferred).
- Familiarity with agile development and backlog management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive).
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
